I hear I can buy investment properties at a cheap price through City tax sales, City condemned properties or City foreclosure sales. Where can I find a list of these properties?
City tax sales and foreclosures only occur a few times a year at best. Properties are auctioned to the highest bidder. The City takes in the money that is owed and gives any extra money received to the property owner. Such sales are advertised in the legal section of the newspaper. There are no lists available. Condemned properties belong to the property owners and not the City. You should contact the owner to inquire about purchasing the property. The City Real Estate Assessor can provide owner information. They can be contacted at (434) 799-5120.
