Engines from Industrial Ave,the airport and the engine and ladder from Bridge St along with (20) firefighters and (4) support vehicles responded to a reported structure fire at 654 Lee St.Battalion one arrived first on the scene and reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the single story residential structure.People gathered in front of the house told him of the possibilty of someone still being inside the burning structure.Engine one and ladder one arrived first and pulled two attack lines and the engine advanced the line inside while the ladder crew performed search and rescue and reported no one was found inside the resident.Fire was confined to room and contents and the dwelling sustained moderate damage.Cause of ignition was combustibles too close to a kerosene heater.No injuries were reported and the owner was actually staying somewhere else and the Red Cross was not needed at this location.Units remained on the scene for almost two hours.
