Community Holiday Light Show
December 9 - 25, 2020 (Closed Christmas Eve)
in Ballou Park (760 West Main Street)
- Sunday through Thursday 6 - 9 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday 6 - 10 p.m.
Admission to the show is $10 per car and $20 per mini bus/15 passenger van. This is a cash only event.
Builders - Create holiday magic by decorating a spot in the park. Displays can be entered by businesses, organizations, families, and individuals. There is no charge to enter a display. If you would like to enter a display into the 2020 show, contact Taylor at the Danville Welcome Center and fill out this form.
Best in Show Vote - Each builder designates a non-profit that they decorate their spot for. Each vehicle that drives through the show receives one ballot. At the end of the route the ballot is turned in. The top displays receive a monetary donation to the non-profit of their choice. The 2019 winners were: first place, St. Luke’s UMC; second place, Goodyear-Danville; third place, Trophy and Sign Center; fourth place, First Responders of Danville; and fifth place, Danville Register and Bee.
Greeting Cards - In addition to building a display, organizations, businesses, and families can paint a 4 ft. x 8 ft. wooden greeting card. If you are interested in painting a greeting card for the 2020 Light Show contact call (434) 793-4636 and fill out this form.
Volunteers - Groups that volunteer to work the gate receive a portion of the gate proceeds on their night. If your organization would like to work the gate call (434) 793-4636 and fill out this form.
In 2019 a total of $12,935 was donated back to the community between the gate workers and the Best in Show contest. 9,000 people attended in 2,432 cars and 23 buses. Over 300 volunteers helped make this event a success! Thank you to all of the visitors, volunteers, and builders that contributed to this event!
