Danville Celebrates Fourth of July

Patriot Challenge: Anglers Park, race starts at 8 a.m.

Start Independence Day off with the Patriot Challenge at Anglers Park. There is a race for the whole family with a 5K/10K and a kid's fun run. Registration is open online and by calling the Danville Welcome Center. Registration is $30 for the 5K/10K race. The price will go up $10 the day of the race. Online registration closes July 1. Packet pickup is June 29 - July 2, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

July 4 Celebration: Carrington Pavilion, gates open at 6 p.m. 

Danville's annual Fourth of July Celebration is full of fun events and ending with everyone's favorite - fireworks at the Carrington Pavilion!

  • 6 p.m. - Gates Open
  • Dusk - Grand Firework Display by Master Displays, LTD (weather permitting) 

Vendors - If you would like to be a vendor at the July 4 Celebration, complete this form and return to Taylor at the Danville Welcome Center. 

More Activities and vendors will be posted as they are confirmed.

Important Fireworks Information

  • Fireworks will be detonated from Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Bridge (Main Street Bridge)
  • The southbound lane (closest to the YMCA) will close at 2 p.m.
  • The northbound lane will close at 8 p.m.
  • Motorists can access the Crossing at the Dan and River District via Union Street Bridge and/or Industrial Avenue off of Danville Expressway
  • Please obey all signs
  • The train trestle pedestrian bridge at the Crossing will close at 9 p.m.
  • Please do not bring your dogs to the Crossing
